In the past, iodine was used as an antibiotic.

Recommendation for athletes

The guidelines of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act must always be followed when discussing the athlete's health with coaching and athletic training staff.
3-Oral or injectable corticosteroids should not be administered concomitantly with fluoroquinolones.
4-Consideration should be given to supplementing magnesium and/or antioxidants during treatment with fluoroquinolones if there are no contraindications.
