Healing Benefits of Dead Sea Salt and Mud

ree

Foreword

Both the mud and the salt of the Dead Sea are used for therapeutic purposes. We'll discuss both in this blog post.

The Dead Sea is renowned for its therapeutic and cosmetic properties. The unique climatic conditions in the Dead Sea region make it a world-renowned location for climate therapy, skin therapy, and general health therapy.

Dead Sea mud and salt are the most healing of all muds and salts found worldwide. This is due to their powerful, high-mineral compositions.

Dead Sea salt can be used both internally and externally . It's also suitable for culinary use. It contains many minerals, more than most salts. Therefore, it offers many benefits for external use. If you intend to use it for culinary purposes, make sure the website or packaging indicates that it's for culinary use.

Where is the Dead Sea located

The mud is extracted from the deepest layer of the Dead Sea, which is located at the lowest point on Earth. The Dead Sea lies 417 meters below sea level at its deepest point, between Israel and Jordan.

The sea is 76 km long and 16 km wide. A small, shallow southern section is only 4 to 6 meters deep. A large northern section reaches depths of 430 meters in some places. Due to its high salinity of 25-30%, the sea is called "yam hamelach" (salt sea) in Hebrew.

Deep in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea hides its healing treasures. For thousands of years, people have come to the Dead Sea to experience the therapeutic effects of its waters. They can heal skin conditions with the healing Dead Sea minerals and black mud, but also simply to enjoy the water. largest natural spa in the world.

Composition of the Dead Sea

The Dead Sea contains over 35 different minerals, trace elements, and salts. It's not only the saltiest but also the richest in minerals.

There is an exceptionally high concentration of potassium, bromine, magnesium, and iodine. Most people are deficient in magnesium and iodine. What many people don't know is that iodine is also a natural antibiotic. Therefore, a visit to the Dead Sea can drastically improve your health.

This wealth of minerals and the hot, dry climate have helped people with skin conditions since ancient times. The healing power of the Dead Sea is a well-known draw for people.

Dead Sea details

1. Due to the high salt content of 25-30%, animal and plant life is not possible there, although there are a few exceptions.

2- Swimming is not possible in this water. You can simply float on the surface.

3- You can enjoy a 365-day summer there all year round.

4. It turns out you don't get sunburned. This is because the Dead Sea is located at the lowest point on Earth.

5- The Dead Sea is not only the saltiest but also the richest in minerals in the world.

6. The Dead Sea contains 40 different minerals, halogens, and trace elements. At 28%, its concentration is seven times stronger than that of other seas and oceans. Moreover, its potassium, iodine, and magnesium content are much higher.

--> All these unique compositions of the Dead Sea are the main factor for its healing properties.

Floating on the water

A tourist said: " I found it hard to believe you could float on the water! You simply can't sink. Even swimming is barely possible." But the stories are true. You can just float on your back in the water. Lying on your stomach is impossible because you'll tip over."

The idea is to first smear your body with greasy mud, which is laid out in buckets on the beach. You let the mud soak into your skin for a while. The combination of the mud and the sun is healing. Most people simply jump into the water after about half an hour to rinse off.

If you have a small wound, you'll feel a slight sting. It can also sting in areas where you've shaved. However, be careful not to get water in your eyes, as that's really unpleasant, especially if you're wearing contact lenses.

Even the sea water feels incredibly oily. When you get out, it feels like you've just been slathered in oil. Don't go into the Dead Sea unless there's a shower nearby, because you'll really crave one!

Dead Sea Mud Applications

First, warm the mud using the double boiler method . Then, apply the warm mud to the area you want to treat. Cover it with a tea towel and then wrap it in plastic. Avoid applying plastic directly to the skin with the mud, as it can disrupt the hormones.

Dead Sea mud retains its warmth for a long time thanks to its minerals. It takes about 14 minutes for the mud to drop in temperature by 1 degree Celsius. This is only possible if you wrap the packs in a cloth and plastic. The mud's heat-retaining properties allow it to treat painful areas for a long time.

Application 1:

Leave the mud pack on for 20-30 minutes and rinse with lukewarm water. If needed, leave the pack on overnight. If you do this 2 to 3 times a week, you'll notice a reduction in your eczema or psoriasis patches. Your skin will look better.

Apply the mud mask 3 times a week for dry skin

After washing off the mud with warm water, apply some rose water to remove any mud residue and refresh your skin.

Foot bath with Dead Sea salt and mud

Some call the soles of the feet the third kidney. Footbaths can detoxify the third kidney. Footbaths with Dead Sea salt stimulate detoxification throughout the body. The soles of the feet eliminate significant amounts of toxins and waste.

Foot baths with Dead Sea salt are also ideal if you have sweaty or fungal feet. Follow up with a Dead Sea mud wrap. It provides powerful nourishment.

Application 5:

Wrap your body with Dead Sea mud

Visit a hammam or private sauna with a steam bath. Cover your entire body with Dead Sea mud. Leave a few spots on your body open, such as your feet, hands, and face. So, don't apply mud to certain areas. It's a powerful detoxifier and cleanser. Dead Sea mud is much more powerful than Rhassoul, which is definitely a good cleanser as well.

Application 6:

Edema legs benefit from Dead Sea salt and mud treatments

First, rub some Dead Sea salt with water onto the edematous legs. Then let the salt soak in for 15 minutes. Rinse thoroughly.

Meanwhile, warm the mud in a double boiler. Apply the heated mud to the edematous legs. Wrap a warm, thin tea towel around it and cover with plastic wrap.

If you do this 2 to 3 times a week, you'll notice a reduction in swelling and improved skin appearance. Also, avoid all chemicals and synthetic ingredients. Avoid processed sugars. Eat as much wholesome food as possible.

Application 7:

Sports wrap

Suppose you have stiff muscles in your back, legs, shoulders, or arms from exercising. Then you can first apply a Dead Sea salt scrub and let the salt soak in. Let the minerals penetrate your skin thoroughly. Then rinse thoroughly.

Then, apply Dead Sea mud to your stiff muscles. Let the mud soak in for 15 minutes. The minerals help your muscles recover. Your blood circulates better, allowing waste products to be removed more effectively. Your muscles receive oxygen, and acidification is reduced. Acidification refers to a mineral deficiency.

This is also ideal to use just before a competition. The better your mineral balance, the better your athletic performance. Many athletes suffer from mineral deficiencies.
